The legal dispute over Robin Williams' estate could be coming to a close after his widow Susan Schneider Williams and three children Zak, Zelda and Cody Williams have agreed to a group mediation session. The group appeared at a probate court in San Francisco on Monday in a bid to resolve a disagreement over the property left in the late star's will.

Robin had stipulated how he wanted his $45million fortune to be divided up, but Susan – his third wife – formally contested it.

The Mrs Doubtfire actor's will entitles his three children to clothing, jewellery and personal photos taken before his marriage to Susan, as well as awards, memorabilia and personal property from the home that they shared together in California.

However Susan filed papers at San Francisco Superior Court asking to exclude the contents of the home she shared with the actor.

During Monday's 40-minute hearing, both parties formally agreed to meet up in the next two weeks to arrange to collect items from Robin's home and to also take part in a group mediation session.

Following the hearing, Robin's daughter Zelda took to Tumblr to say neither she nor her siblings had taken any belongings from their father's home.

"My brothers and I have not at any point since dad's death been invited to or visited his and Susan's house in Tiburon, nor have we removed anything from it," she wrote.

The 25-year-old and her siblings had previously said that Susan was "adding insult to injury" by trying to change the trust agreement and deprive them of their late father's personal items, including jewellery and memorabilia left to them in his will.

"The Williams children are heartbroken that (the) petitioner, Mr Williams' wife of less than three years, has acted against his wishes by challenging the plans he so carefully made for his estate," their lawyers said in court papers.

Robin passed away at his north California home in August after a long battle with depression and a recent Parkinson's disease diagnosis.
